Boundary & Division
There
are many reasons you may decide you need a retaining wall, if you
live in an area near the end of a valley or if your backyard is
fully or partially on a steep hill you may need to build a retaining
wall to stop the ground from shifting and keep it from becoming
unstable or falling.
There are several
ways to build effective retaining walls, some of our clients most
popular choices are reinforced concrete and mortar, or building
the wall by dry stacking stone. Sometimes using timber poles in
palisades also seems like an attractive choice for the retaining
wall; but these do not last well in a wet climate and so we do not
recommend this type if your looking for a long term solution..

Fences have
the same functions of boundary and division as walls. Although usually
they are made of timber and are easily removed, making the fence
a much more temporary solution than a wall. Choose from many styles
including post-and-rail and picket.
For the longest
lasting fence we suggest using durable timber such as oak and larch.
